Stay Golden Dog Camp & Retreat began with a single pup and a whole lot of love! In 2013, our founder, Jessica Golden, met her first dog, Rozay, on Mother’s Day — a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for caring for dogs. Soon, two more pups joined the Golden family, and what started as in-home boarding and daycare quickly grew into something much bigger.
With the support of our amazing clients, Stay Golden blossomed into a dedicated space for dogs to play, relax, and feel at home. Today, we’re excited to be welcoming campers to our 1,900 sq. ft. facility on 7 beautiful acres, conveniently located at 4117 Highway 70 W — just 10 minutes from downtown Dickson.
And the adventure doesn’t stop there! We are also building a brand-new 3,000 sq. ft. lodge to bring even more tail-wagging amenities, play areas, and cozy spaces for our four-legged guests. It’s all part of our mission to make every stay a getaway like no other.
🐾 Stay tuned for updates as we grow — the best is yet to come! 💛

🐾 Shelter Dog of the Month: Hobo 🐾
Hobo has lost his person, his home, and even his second chance. But this sweet old boy is still waiting.
For nearly 14 years, Hobo had one person: Deborah. She was his whole world, and as long as he had her, he was home.
When Deborah entered a nursing home, Hobo lost the only life he'd ever known. She later passed away, leaving behind one final wish for her ole boy: that he would be safe, loved, and have a home for the rest of his days.
Unfortunately, Hobo's journey hasn't been easy.
After arriving at the shelter, Hobo escaped from a transporter at an out-of-county veterinary office. He was missing for over a month before he was finally found and brought back to safety.
Over time, the shelter became familiar. Hobo learned the routines, grew attached to the volunteers, and began to trust again.
Then, finally, someone adopted him.
Everyone hoped Deborah's wish had come true. But just days later, Hobo was returned following an incident involving a child. He had bitten without breaking the skin. Hobo suffers from arthritis and pain in his hips and back legs, which may have contributed to his reaction.
He returned frightened and overwhelmed, hiding beneath a tree when he arrived. Rather than force him into a kennel, a volunteer allowed him to spend the cool evening in the play yard.
And once again, the shelter became his safe place.
But a shelter shouldn't be where Hobo spends the rest of his life.
At his age, Hobo doesn't need grand adventures. He needs peace, patience, and someone willing to love him exactly as he is.
🏡 Hobo's ideal home:
-
A quiet, adult-only household
-
No young children or other dogs
-
A securely fenced yard
-
Someone experienced with senior dogs who respects their boundaries
-
Daily medication to manage his discomfort
-
Cats may be possible with slow, careful introductions, as he previously lived with them 🤍

🐾Daycare Dog of the Month: Kane! 🐾
This month, we're celebrating one of our happiest campers, Kane! 💛
Kane is a handsome white shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger heart! His journey to Stay Golden is a special one. Once a foster dog, Kane found his forever home with a family member of one of our clients. Sadly, when his owner passed away, our wonderful client welcomed Kane into their own home, making sure he would always have a family to love him.
And lucky for us, that means we get to see this sweet boy at daycare every day!
Kane is full of energy, always ready to play, and has never met a stranger. Whether he's running around with his buddies or making new friends, he brings so much happiness to our playgroups. His playful spirit and cheerful personality make him an absolute joy to have at camp!
We're so grateful to be part of Kane's story and to watch him enjoy life surrounded by friends, both two-legged and four-legged.
Congratulations, Kane, on being our Daycare Dog of the Month! 🐶🏆💛
Keep being your happy, playful self, sweet boy! We're so glad you're part of the Stay Golden family! 🐾
